A shooting in Prospect Park Sunday afternoon left one man wounded and bystanders scrambling toward the street at the sound of gunfire, cops and witnesses said.

Police responded to the southeast corner of the park around 3 p.m. where they came across a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg, cops said.

Just before the gunfire erupted, a woman in the Brooklyn park noticed a group of men “pursuing” another group who she described as “boys.”

“One of the boys fired at the two men who were approaching them,” said the woman, who did not want to be named.

As the victim laid on the ground, the three men ran out of the park and took off onto nearby Coney Island Ave., cops said.

“There were a lot of people running scared,” said the woman. “They were running away from the shooter.”

The wounded man was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

There were no immediate arrests as cops worked to track down the gunman.
