A woman may lose her legs after a chain-reaction crash sent a car careening toward her on a Brooklyn sidewalk Thursday, police and sources said.
The 44-year-old woman had just parked her car near the corner of E. 27th St. and Avenue W in Sheepshead Bay when a white Mercedes and delivery van collided at the intersection around 3:50 p.m., cops and witnesses said.
“The white Mercedes jumped the curb and hit her,” said Michael Irvin, a retired nurse. “She was very polite and collected. She didn’t know what was going on.”
The shocked victim had been pinned against a brick wall outside a house on the corner.

“Her legs were under the car smashed,” said Irvin, 59. “Her upper body was pinned to the wall.”
He rendered as much care as he could before medics made it to the scene.
“She was saying, ‘Can I go home? Can you help me get home?’” Irvin recounted. “She had no idea she was hurt.”
She was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn in critical condition.
Both drivers remained at the scene following the crash and were not immediately facing any charges.
