Kevin Costner and his wife are headed toward a divorce, a representative for the actor confirmed.
The “Yellowstone” star and Christine Baumgartner married in 2004 and have three kids together.
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage,” Costner’s publicist said in a statement.
Costner and the handbag designer dated for six years before getting married. The film star, 68, was previously married for 16 years to Cindy Silva, with whom he has four kids.

He has three kids with Baumgartner: 15-year-old son Cayden, 14-year-old son Hayes and 12-year-old daughter Grace.
“The house is prettier because of her,” Costner told People of Baumgartner last November. “Everything is warmer because of her. There’s these little things that she does and I think it’s the power of love, but that she makes her home that way.”
Costner won two Academy Awards — best picture and best director — in 1991 for “Dances with Wolves,” for which he also received a best actor nomination. He is known as well for films such as “Field of Dreams,” “Bull Durham” and “JFK.”
Earlier this year, Costner won the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama series for the western “Yellowstone.” He didn’t attend the January ceremony due to flooding in Southern California but was at the Screen Actors Guild Awards with Baumgartner the following month.
“Yellowstone,” which stars Costner as a Montana ranch owner, premiered in 2018 and has spawned multiple spinoff series, including this year’s “1923? starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. It’s unclear when the second half of “Yellowstone” Season 5 will premiere.
